About
Make career comparisons easier to inspect.
Career Matchup organizes occupation-level information so people can compare the evidence, follow the source, and understand where the data stops.
What it does
The site supports search, browsing, filters, career profiles, and side-by-side comparisons.
The published catalog is generated from a validated import. Occupations are eligible for publication only when the O*NET-SOC to BLS code relationship passes the documented direct-match rule. The interface reads career facts from the validated data layer rather than embedding statistics in page components.
How it stays accountable
Every displayed fact keeps its evidence close by.
Profiles and comparisons retain the source organization, dataset, release, reference period, occupation code, availability status, transformation note, and source file hash. Read the methodology and source catalog for the full explanation.
What it does not do
The current release stays deliberately focused.
It does not provide state or metro estimates, live job listings, employer reviews, individualized recommendations, or an overall career winner. Those are separate product and data questions, not values to infer from the current national sources.
